Vertical woven objects are made by a new form of 3D weaving.
By 3D printing pillars and weaving yarn in between them, 3D woven structured can be created.
These structures can feature a variety of weave patterns, including plain weave, 2x1 twill, 3x1 twill and satin.
..utilise multiple colour yarns,..
..be fabricated with a printed textile bottom to create baskets,..
,..and have non-developable curved surfaces.
Possible applications include lamps, vases, bags, baskets, and accessories.
